Jim Compton
Mr. Compton is former Vice Chairman and Chief Revenue Officer of United Airlines. Prior to his retirement in December 2016, he spent 30 years in the airline industry leading organizations and growing revenue through network optimization, marketing initiatives, e-commerce, alliance development and pricing/revenue management strategies. Jim was a member of the executive team in 2010 to merge Continental Airlines and United Airlines.
Jim previously served as Executive Vice-president and Chief Revenue Officer of Continental Airlines. He joined the company in 1995 as director of pricing and was named a corporate officer in 1997.
Jim earned a bachelor and Masters in Economics from the University of Illinois Chicago in 1980. Jim resides in Chicago with his wife and son. In addition, Jim serves as National Board Chair for the American Foundation Suicide Prevention and serves on the board of the Lincoln Park Zoological Society of Chicago.
